In a significant move to elevate the standard of customer care within the financial sector, Sonali Life Insurance PLC has signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with STS Holdings Limited, the operating organisation behind Evercare Hospital Dhaka. This strategic alliance is designed to facilitate preferential access to comprehensive healthcare services for the insurance provider’s policyholders, internal employees, and authorised beneficiaries.
The collaboration aligns with a broader trend within the Bangladeshi insurance industry, which is increasingly transitioning towards value-added, customer-centric models. Rather than solely offering traditional financial security, progressive insurers are integrating active health management and medical accessibility into their core portfolios. This partnership directly reflects Sonali Life’s overarching strategy to merge robust financial protection with tangible, high-quality medical support for its clientele.
Under the framework of the newly formalised MoU, eligible individuals affiliated with Sonali Life will be granted streamlined access to Evercare Hospital Dhaka’s extensive medical infrastructure. The agreement covers a wide spectrum of medical provisions, encompassing both inpatient and outpatient services, specialised medical consultations, and advanced diagnostic and laboratory tests. Furthermore, beneficiaries will receive comprehensive treatment coordination, a 24-hour ambulance service, integrated pharmacy services, and bespoke home healthcare options. To ensure immediate support during medical crises, a dedicated emergency hotline will be activated.
Moreover, Evercare Hospital will manage a dedicated corporate support desk specifically designed for these beneficiaries. This specialised administrative unit will assist with securing priority appointments, coordinating patient care, and smoothly navigating the complexities of hospital admissions.
During the official signing ceremony, Md Rafiqul Islam, acting Chief Executive Officer of Sonali Life Insurance PLC, emphasised the organisation’s evolving mandate. “By facilitating access to quality healthcare, we aim to provide meaningful support when our policyholders need it most,” he stated, noting that the company is dedicated to offering greater value beyond traditional insurance frameworks.
Director Fauzia Qamrun Tania echoed this sentiment, asserting that authentic customer service necessitates safeguarding policyholders’ physical health. “This partnership will help connect them with quality healthcare services and reinforce our commitment to their overall well-being,” she remarked. Additionally, Director Sheikh Mohammad Danial identified accessible, modern healthcare as a crucial component of a comprehensive corporate ecosystem.
The agreement was officially signed at Sonali Life’s head office in Dhaka. A M Abul Kashem, General Manager and Head of Corporate Marketing at Evercare Hospital Dhaka, represented STS Holdings Limited, whilst Md Rafiqul Islam signed on behalf of the insurer. Senior officials from both institutions were in attendance, expressing confidence that the joint venture will foster a more efficient, customer-focused healthcare paradigm across Bangladesh.
