NRB Bank PLC and MetLife Bangladesh have renewed their partnership for an eighth consecutive year, continuing an arrangement that provides additional insurance protection to eligible NRB Bank credit cardholders.
Under the renewed agreement, eligible cardholders will receive insurance coverage designed to help settle outstanding balances on their credit cards in the event of death or permanent disability. The benefit will apply subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant insurance policy.
The agreement also provides an In-Hospital Cash Benefit for eligible cardholders for each hospitalisation. The benefit is intended to offer financial assistance during periods of medical treatment and recovery, helping customers manage some of the expenses associated with being admitted to hospital.
The latest renewal maintains a long-running relationship between the banking and insurance institutions. By linking insurance protection with eligible credit card services, the arrangement is intended to provide customers with financial support in circumstances that could otherwise create additional pressure for cardholders or their families.
In the event of a qualifying death or permanent disability, the insurance coverage may help address the outstanding credit card balance in accordance with the applicable policy provisions. This can be particularly relevant where a cardholder has an unpaid balance at the time of such an event. The In-Hospital Cash Benefit, meanwhile, addresses a separate need by providing a specified cash benefit when an eligible customer is hospitalised.
The agreement was signed by Tareq Reaz Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRB Bank, and Ala Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Bangladesh. They signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Senior officials from both NRB Bank and MetLife Bangladesh also attended the signing ceremony.
The continuation of the partnership for eight consecutive years highlights the sustained cooperation between the two organisations in providing banking customers with access to insurance-related benefits. For eligible credit cardholders, the arrangement combines everyday payment facilities with additional protection against certain unforeseen financial circumstances.
The benefits remain subject to the applicable insurance policy terms and conditions. Eligibility, qualifying events, coverage and claims will therefore depend on the provisions governing the respective benefits.
With the latest renewal, NRB Bank’s eligible credit cardholders will continue to have access to the agreed insurance protection and In-Hospital Cash Benefit under the partnership with MetLife Bangladesh.
