Meghna Life Insurance Approves 15% Cash Dividend for 2025

Shareholders of Meghna Life Insurance PLC have formally approved a 15% cash dividend for the 2025 financial year during the company’s landmark 30th Annual General Meeting.
According to an official press release, the high-profile gathering took place virtually at 11:00 AM on Thursday. The digital session was presided over by Meghna Life Insurance Chairman Nizam Uddin Ahmed, who guided discussions regarding the firm’s robust operational performance and future strategic objectives.
A strong contingent of corporate leadership and board members attended the virtual proceedings. Among those present were Vice Chairman Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Pavel); Directors Riaz Uddin Ahmed, Jannatul Ferdous, Md Zahid Anwar Khan, Md Main Uddin, Dilruba Sharmin, and Sabita Ferdous; alongside Acting Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Tarek, FCA, and various senior executives. The formal proceedings of the AGM were expertly conducted by Additional Managing Director and Company Secretary Enamul Haque Khan, ACS.
Financial disclosures presented during the meeting highlighted a resilient performance throughout the preceding year. Meghna Life Insurance generated a total premium income of Tk 282.66 crore in 2025, while its cumulative assets expanded to reach Tk 1,765.66 crore. Underscoring its unwavering commitment to policyholder welfare, the insurer successfully disbursed Tk 286.78 crore in settled claims during the operational period. Additionally, the company reported a solid earnings per share of Tk 1.72, reflecting sound fiscal management and steady profitability.
Addressing the assembled shareholders, Chairman Nizam Uddin Ahmed reaffirmed that the organisation will continue pushing forward with innovative, technology-driven, and policyholder-centric initiatives. In his concluding remarks, he expressed profound gratitude to key regulatory bodies, including the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Dhaka Stock Exchange, alongside other supervisory authorities. He also thanked the directors, management personnel, dedicated employees, insurance professionals, loyal policyholders, and investors for their continued cooperation and partnership.
Looking ahead, the Chairman urged all stakeholders to collaborate closely to achieve the company’s ambitious business targets for the 2026 financial year, ensuring sustained success and long-term growth. The dividend recommendation and AGM schedule had earlier been endorsed following initial board deliberations, with the company’s official financial reporting portals maintaining comprehensive access to its audited 2025 accounts and annual report.
